Make Images for Bible Clip Installer

2 images will need to be created for the setup installer. Here are the file names, formats, and dimensions:
  1. dialog.jpg 500x316. It displays on the left hand side of the first screen of the installer window as a banner.
  2. banner.jpg 500x50. It displays on the top throughout the installation process.
rdagjones, you did a great job with making the logo. If you could work on making these images as well, that would be great.
You can just attach file when you comment on the issue to get the pictures here.

Images have been made and added to installer as of the first release.

I have reworked the installer to not need the pictures for now. I will keep this open to work on after initial release though.

I have started the "banner.jpg" image. Attached is my first attempt. I would like to use some of the images for the "Create Clip" menu in SM to make a collage image for the "dialog.jpg" image. I have an email sent to owaits to ask for permission and to see if he can get me the files. He could attach them here and I will get them.

Just took a try at dialog.jpg. What do you think?

I will try them out. Thanks!

I added the banner picture to the installer, and it looks great! Thanks! The dialog picture may need modified though to work well with the installer. I gave you the dimensions it would have needed to be to work with an old version of the installer. Now i know those dimensions were off. Maybe if you can rework it to look better within a 100x200 area, then I can use the dialog picture on the left side of the installer.

Sorry, I have been out of the country and just saw this message. I will see what I can do to change the dialog.jpg to the 100x200 ratio.

I took a little time tonight and redid the dialog image. It is named "dialog2.jpg" just to keep them from being confused. You will have to rename the file to use it. Enjoy.

I just made a change - listed at SVN version 81967. It has both your top and side dialog pictures in the installer. I'll leave this open for a while to let people comment on what they think of the pictures, and we'll go from there.

Ran the new installer just to update to the newest alpha and see what the images looked like:
-The banner.jpg looked a little grainy on my display. Does your downloaded image look like that?
-Did not see the dialog.jpg during the installation. It's not that there was some place for it and it did not show up. It is that the installation process only has place for the banner image. There was not other place for an image of any kind.

Not that any of these are a big deal for me but I did not want to reflect badly on your hard work. If the banner is all that you need that is fine with me.

The newest installer is not what you see on the download page. The changes I made are in the online code (if you check the "Source Code" area, there is an updated installer if you browse the files). I for one haven't felt there have been enough changes yet in the code to merit making another release yet on the download page. That's probably why you didn't see the dialog2.jpg used on the left side.

As far as the banner picture goes, it looks ok to me.

How's the Bible clip coming?

cable007 wrote Dec 23, 2011 at 11:34 PM

As far as I know, the progress has been slow. Mostly because I have been rather busy the last few months with other commitments, I haven't had much time to work on the plugin. But hopefully, I should have some spare time next week to get some more done on the code.
Thanks for asking!

Let me know if you need any testing work done. I will probably change our main worship computer to SM 3.7 beta so that we can get the web browsing clip back. (It is a 64bit system.) I will then be able to test the work on 3.6 and 3.7 systems if all goes well.
